Mark Puryear
Mark L. Puryear III is a founding partner in the law firm of Puryear, Newman & Morton, PLLC. He is a 1992 graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee in 1989. He was raised in Franklin, Tennessee where he attended and graduated from Battle Ground Academy.
Mark focuses his practice on criminal defense law. After graduating from law school, he began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in the 21st Judicial District of the State of Tennessee. He prosecuted cases for that office for over five years. He then went into private practice and was a founding partner in the law firm of Puryear & Newman, PLLC. He represents people that have been charged with all types of crime, as well as people that may be under investigation for allegedly committing some sort of crime. He is licensed to practice law in all Tennessee State Courts and the United States District Courts in Tennessee.
Mark is an active member of the Williamson County Bar Association and a Past President. He is also a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also very active in the community. He has been on the Board of Directors of United Way of Williamson County, the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce, Battle Ground Academy Alumni Association and the Franklin Noon Rotary Club.
Mark has been married to his wife Elizabeth for over sixteen years, and they have three children. He has coached all three children in various sports leagues including the Franklin Baseball Club, West Nashville Sports League, Williamson County Soccer Association and The Futures Summer Basketball League. He is also a Co-Chair and helps run the Oak View Basketball League.
